The Ötztaler Urweg, a long-distance hiking trail in 12 stages, loops through the entire valley - from the valley floor at 684 meters to over 3,000 meters. On the approx. 180 kilometers in between, thousands of impressions rain down on you and you get to know the valley like the back of your hand. One floor higher, the high-alpine Ötztal Trek leads over gaps, ridges and peaks through the mountains, while the European long-distance hiking trail E5 leads you south.
Whether with the (e) mountain bike on the total of 850 kilometers of MTB routes, with the racing bike steeply uphill to legendary passes such as the Timmelsjoch, with the fully flowing downhill on the lines & trails of the Bike Republic or safely and relaxed along the 52 kilometers long Ötztal cycle path, unforgettable cycling experiences are waiting for you.
The valley is considered to be one of the granite climbing areas par excellence in Tyrol. In 19 climbing gardens you can live out your urge for verticality on around 750 routes. 8 via ferratas and an abundance of multi-pitch tours make you fit on the rock. Last but not least, this is ensured by the certified and local climbing and mountain guides who accompany you on the way up.
